Who is BrakeThrough Media?

We are the award-winning digital content team of Jim Fryer and Iri Greco – with over 20 years experience in the media landscape. Based in New York City and Denver, Colorado, we have worked both across the U.S.A. and extensively in Europe and the U.K.

In essence, we are best when working with people. Our previous backgrounds are in the sport & fitness and food & beverage industries where a mentality of dedication, passion, goal-setting thrives. We enjoy bringing that unique past experience, knowledge, and sensibility to our collective vision and aesthetic. We can work seamlessly in still imagery and motion while taking a hands-on and intimate approach to all our projects. We love the collaborative process and developing long-term client relationships.

Meet Jim

As a former professional athlete, I know how important keeping the goal post in sight is to a brand or business. I bring this sense of focus and drive to our projects whether it is in commercial fitness or commercial head shots.

Our work across the globe has immersed us in so many varied scenarios and with so many diverse people that we are able to work fluidly in many situations. I pride myself on that flexibility to work small scale or large, in studio or on location.

As a photographer and producer, I embrace the challenges – many of them technical and logistical. I apply an athlete’s pragmatism in practice and preparation. While being able to work as a team is always reinforced within our company and with our clients and production partners.

Meet Iri

My father swears I can talk to anyone. As an extroverted introvert, I enjoy watching people, listening, and engaging. Human connection lights me up.

As a photographer and video producer / director, I bring a deep love of people. You could say I am a balanced blend of my cultural backgrounds – my Italian heritage gives me fire and heart while my German ancestry calls for organization and practicality. They each find an outlet in the work we do.

Photography is my third career. I worked as a chef in the restaurant industry for over a decade before moving into food media and food styling for television and print. Jim and I met in 2009 and while I taught him about food and food photography, he welcomed me into the world of sports media.

Working with athletes teaches you a lot about collaboration, focus, and the playing the long game. This has been super useful in all aspects of our work whether we are filming with a personal trainer, a mid-sized commercial brand, a small business, or a celebrity.
